I’m a huge Watchmen fan. I think it’s one of the greatest comics out there for history/government nerds, and that it has an amazing cast of characters. I’m also one of those weirdos that LOVES the movie (I think it’s just gorgeous, and that the cast is great). As a result, I’ve been jonesing to do a Watchmen costume–and I decided to go a less-travelled route and do a gender-bent version of the comic’s antagonist since Ozymandias is one of my two favorite comic book villains ever.
I also amused myself by internally referring to the costume as Ozy-Mandy-as.
On Wednesday I’m going to do another Deconstructing a Costume post (like I did for Lady Shredder), but I thought I would whet your appetites for that post with a little preview. So without further ado, here’s a gallery full of some of my favorite pictures from my photoshoot with Eddie B Photos.
I also got Eddie’s permission to mess around a little bit with Photoshop. Neither of these edits are particularly impressive, but I still had fun doing them so I thought I’d share with you guys :). The second picture is an attempt to mimic the character posters from the movie.
I really loved wearing this costume–it’s definitely a new contender for my most comfortable costume ever! It’s also not really common, which means people were usually excited about seeing it. It also meant I had to explain who I was to some people ;).
